So no wonder I get all those proxy results…

Proxy Google SERP Kickout. Old blackhat technique, since I have been seeing it since last year but always suspected it to be an innocent proxy visit by someone trying to be anonymous. Well they still are but they also have something else in mind. Oh well the SEO world… do it clean, do it dirty, both ways will always exist. And just learn how to defend yourself. Read more about the Google SERP kickout by proxy details by Dan Thies.

That was the blog post i was looking for.
Basically a prime example of a so called seo expert who does not have the foggiest idea how google works.

Basically what is happening is the proxy sites are posted onto a zillion message boards, the proxy site is listed on lots of proxy lists etc.

So as a result the proxy has a pretty good pagerank.

You could do the same stuff by scraping his site, and putting it up on another site with strong pagerank.

Bottom line is duplicate content filter does not exist.
