LinkCounter – SEO Firefox Plugin/Extension/Addon for Firefox 3
Thursday, September 18th, 2008If you are the type of person that is taking a close watch on the number of outbound links you have Firefox Addon LinkCounter is very useful as it shows you the total number of links, a breakdown of these if they are internal within the same site or external going to other sites, and it has the option for you to copy them all if you need to paste them in a separate document.
Unfortunately, this plugin by Tito has long stopped development.

Temporary Fix to RankQuest SEO Toolbar, SEOpen and SEOLinks after Mozilla Firefox 2 Upgrade
Saturday, October 28th, 2006Dec. 16, 2006 Update: SEOpen and Rankquest SEO Toolbar already have updates for Firefox 2.0. Only SEOLinks does not work Firefox 2.0 as of current posting time.
Have you just upgraded to Mozilla Firefox 2? A lot of SEO Firefox extensions will still work, like Aaron Wall’s SEO for Firefox works pretty well after the update and you just needed to download it’s own update and it running flawlessly.
Extensions that did not work right away were:
- SEOPen – Did not work on Firefox 2.0. One of my highly used SEO Firefox extentions since most of my task can be done in a simple right-click.Download SEOPen Temporary Fix, this will run on Firefox 2.0
- Rankquest SEO Toolbar – Did not work on Firefox 2.0. Just a few more task that is not included in SEOPen. I generally turn of the toolbar and just everything from the right-click as well. So my browser does not look too cluttered. Download Rankquest SEO Toolbar Temporary Fix, this will run on Firefox 2.0
- Webmaster Brains’ SEOLinks – Did not work with Firefox 2.0. See the ranking in the “Big 3” for your link text with a simple mouse over. Download Webmaster Brain’s SEOLinks Temporary Fix, this will run on Firefox 2.0
These extensions, SEOpen, Rankquest SEO Toolbar and SEOLinks are modified to work with Mozilla Firefox 2. These are not the official updates to these excellent SEO Firefox extensions. Their official websites are linked above so if ever they have the updated versions already, I highly recommend you upgrade your versions to their updates. And this is only for the purpose of the need to use the extensions while they have not released their updated versions yet of these SEO tools for Firefox 2.0.

SEO Software Review: WebCEO – Comprehensive SEO Software for All
Sunday, September 24th, 2006Many people may be using various softwares for their SEO needs. WebCEO is offering a comprehensive tool for SEOs giving tools used for keyword research, site submission, ranking analysis, website maintainance.
- Keyword Research – Not really the best tool around. And does not seem to come close to WordTracker. But then again WordTracker is for keyword research alone as WebCEO offers a wider range of tools to use.
- Site Submission – I rate this to be very good. Submission to search engine friendly directories always helps and there are several tools out there, and several services and people you can actually pay to do submissions for you, but once you get WebCEO, submissions are done flawlessly. There is an area for automated submissions and also manual submissions where automating submissions are not allowed. Other details are also specified like a link back is required, if payments are required, if your website is only for a certain country and other details. It has a submission record tracking for you to not get lost in how your submissions are going. It works great.
- Ranking Analysis – One of the best tools I like, they have a ranking report checker and also they can generate traffic reports. Although traffic reports require some extra payment for that service, the ranking reports are free and you can run anytime. You can select from their long list of search engines and directories to check the ranking of your website. Their reports are customizable to have your company name and logo for your own SEO company branding that you can give out to clients.
- Site Maintenance – You can change some parameters of your site and give the FTP settings to your server. You can check it’s quality and also monitor the site uptime. But I do not use this tool that often. Sites with dynamic content coming from databases will not work with this.
Do I recommend this tool? Yes I do. The site submissions and ranking reports outweigh the drawbacks for me. Being an SEO, making professional looking ranking reports for your clients is really a great plus. Using WebCEO may cost you, but usually this cost is nothing once you get your first SEO client. And you can download a free version with limited capabilities to get a feel of it’s power. And once you buy the software, you also get a free training and certification from WebCEO. Overall, it is worth the purchase.
